Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.
~Walt Whitman
A colleague shared the quote above with me when I contradicted myself this morning. There’s something enchanting about recognizing and embracing one’s own internal inconsistencies–and for being human, flawed, confused, and malleable/mutable/changing. I say one thing, I do another. I set my compass in one direction, and then take a U-turn before reaching my destination.
One more from a fellow transcendentalist,
“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of feeble minds”
~Henry Thoreau
