daffodil

written by Jana March 13, 2007

daffodil, originally uploaded by pilgrimgirl.

This daffodil sprang up in the far corner of my garden along with a handful of others of varying yellow hues. Such a delightful surprise! I would imagine that some previous owner of my garden plot planted these bulbs.

It’s comforting to know that my garden has been enjoyed by many different people through the years. Knowing this will make it easier for me when I have to say goodbye to it someday. :)

again, great pic! thanks for sharing. We moved out of a place where we had a ‘mini’ woods and had planted daffodils amongst the trees. I remember hoping the new owners would be pleasantly surprised by the spring color.

About Me

About Me

Hi there friend, and welcome to my blog. I started writing on the internet two decades ago. Since then I've started and finished a PhD program, left the Mormon church and became a Quaker, got divorced, remarried, found full-time work in academia, took up rock climbing and outrigger canoeing, and traveled across the globe (China! Belgium! Italy! Chicago! Montana! Portland! Gettysburg! and oh-so-many points in-between). This blog is eclectic and random--it has poetry and cooking and books. And cats. And flowers. And the ocean (my ocean). But in that sense it's a good reflection of me and my wide-ranging, far-reaching, magpie curiosity.
