star stuff, burning brightly

written by Jana August 16, 2008

Below is my lover’s presentation of his succinct “This I Believe” essay at the Sunstone Symposium.

John’s words and his sincerity were what charmed me when we first met. They still do. :)

That warmed our hearts. :-) We miss you guys! It’s been a while. We’re glad you are feeling better and we’re glad John shared his story at Sunstone. :-)

he’s a talented and charismatic speaker.

this was timely, just today my 4yr old son began to talk to me about death (the topic obviously scared him) and I was at a loss, no longer comfortable using the comforting “we go to heaven when we die” line.

than you for posting this here, as I didn’t get the chance to hear it first hand.

About Me

About Me

Hi there friend, and welcome to my blog. I started writing on the internet two decades ago. Since then I've started and finished a PhD program, left the Mormon church and became a Quaker, got divorced, remarried, found full-time work in academia, took up rock climbing and outrigger canoeing, and traveled across the globe (China! Belgium! Italy! Chicago! Montana! Portland! Gettysburg! and oh-so-many points in-between). This blog is eclectic and random--it has poetry and cooking and books. And cats. And flowers. And the ocean (my ocean). But in that sense it's a good reflection of me and my wide-ranging, far-reaching, magpie curiosity.
