cuppa canvas

written by Jana February 5, 2008

a cup for me, originally uploaded by pilgrimgirl.

Had a creative burst yesterday so I pulled out a little canvas and some acrylic paints and had some fun.

I’m going to hang this in my kitchen near the sink.

Some days the urge to mix colors is almost overwhelming. I rarely expect for anything I create to be worthy of hanging on a wall, but it brings me joy anyways. Sometimes I create with beads or fabric. Sometimes they are the colorful plantings in my garden.

“The world is but a canvas to the imagination”
~Henry David Thoreau

That’s awesome! I had no idea you had this artistic talent. It will look great in your kitchen.

About Me

About Me

Hi there friend, and welcome to my blog. I started writing on the internet two decades ago. Since then I've started and finished a PhD program, left the Mormon church and became a Quaker, got divorced, remarried, found full-time work in academia, took up rock climbing and outrigger canoeing, and traveled across the globe (China! Belgium! Italy! Chicago! Montana! Portland! Gettysburg! and oh-so-many points in-between). This blog is eclectic and random--it has poetry and cooking and books. And cats. And flowers. And the ocean (my ocean). But in that sense it's a good reflection of me and my wide-ranging, far-reaching, magpie curiosity.
