a soft landing

I feel like the universe has offered me a soft landing space from the trauma of the past 2 weeks, in the home of a new friend in a new city for me to explore.  Here are a few images from my current life…

Sunlight and spectacular gardens all around the space where I’m working:

An enclosed garden porch, perfect for relaxing/reading/contemplating:

Oh, and just-so-coincidentally, one wall of that porch is outfitted with climbing holds:

And the bedroom where I’m sleeping more soundly than I have in a very long time (note: there’s a gorgeous print to the right of the bed called “Persephone” that I find particularly charming):

Other little serendipities include a persimmon tree, two cozy kitties who are keeping me company, nearby train tracks, morning light through tall windows, a new evening hangout cafe, and the comfort of knowing that I’m getting my work done despite the emotional drain of the divorce.

I’m so glad that you have a beautiful, comforting space in this rough time. It looks perfect for the mental state that fosters writing.

Your place to land was my soft place last year. That is where I fell in love. There is a special energy there, and I’m glad you are there to experience it. I’m also glad you were able to enjoy the persimmons from my neck of the woods! Kevin got a kick out of seeing his (old) place in a new light.

Love that universe, and I love you, Jana.

Yay for new friends, new cities, new spaces and spaciousness. They’re hard-earned and well-deserved.

As much as I like it there, I’m looking forward to returning to my home soon. :) #threemoreweeks

I love the photos and I’m so glad that you have this place for landing.
I’m sorry that your kids aren’t with you all the time, though. That must be rough.

As far as ocean poetry, I’ll keep my eye out for some. The only poetry I’ve been reading lately is Shell Silverstein Where The Sidewalk Ends. Perhaps there’s a funny one in there for you :)
