  • we’ll dance in the garden in torn sheets, in the rain…

Confession: I love rain. Some favorites….
–opening the windows, letting the smell permeate the whole house.
–listening from the inside with a fire and warm socks.
–walking through Secret Garden w/o umbrella or hood.
–a downpour in Cheltenham Spa after a scrumptious vegetarian meal. Annoying fancy hoteliers when us crazy Americans re-enter their flagship hotel dripping water onto the marble floors.
–at night, in the dark, sitting on the porchstep in my PJs and watching the patterns of rain falling in the light from streetlamps.
–visiting the Japanese Garden as it drizzles.
–going up to the foothills in SLC, seeing the lighting dance across the valley floor.
    –funerals & cemetaries.
–sending EllyCat into the downpour. Seeing how long it takes before she heads back inside.

And on days when I don’t have any rain, I stand under the shower spray, close my eyes and just imagine that it’s raining for a few moments. It’s not a perfect substitute, but it satiates me till the next time the rain falls.

-Eating E’s leftover sushi. California roll w/real crabmeat (not krab). Licking my fingers and leering at Ellycat when she cries for a bite.

Singing the Hallelujah Chorus alongside my kiddoes, John, and many friends/colleagues at the “First Annual UCI Messiah Sing” last night.

    Heavenly!!

Hook me up to your laptop computer and fix my broken cyborg knee so it bends when I walk.
And I’ll take those first few hesitant steps…
Then I’ll realize that all is right in the world again because my technology is doing what it’s supposed to.

And I’ll smile (head to toe).

  • Make me smile…

-rubbing my fingers over wooly yarn on a loom for a knit cap
-watching E cheer during the new Harry Potter movie
-sleeping for 11(!) hours on a Friday night [btw, I think the jetlag is gone now…]
-seeing Elly decide that John’s computer mouse is the perfect place to rest her haunches
-sharing a reuben sandwich w/John at Hans’ Ice Cream Parlor (and him letting me have the pickle)

  • confession

I have two favorite web videos:
    Wanna-Be Backstreet
    Yatta (love the fig leaves)
So here’s where I make my confession…I’ve always been super-attracted to Asian men. I’m not sure why, but I think it’s because lots of the Asian guys that I knew in high school were smart (and smart is good). And I like dark haired, darker complexioned people–not that I don’t like lighter-colored people–I just find dark more captivating, more visually interesting. I often dated guys who weren’t necessarily Asian, but had darker features just because this is what first drew me to them…

So–the videos. I don’t watch these lusting ofter these men. First of all, they are probably much too young for me. Second, I just don’t feel lust over strangers. But I do find that these little clips always make me giggle. They are just plain entertaining.

But most of all I like it when my sexy Asian husband does his own renditions for me :)

Fix my email so my messages download like they’re supposed to and I will worship you (Thanks John!!).
I slept better last night–knowing that my email messages were all downloaded and happy in their little subfolders–than I have in a long time! Though I resited the urge to sleep with junebug (my laptop) under my pillow, the thought did cross my mind.
Yes, and this morning everything seemed a little rosier and more wonderful than usual.
Life _is_ beautiful when your technology is doing what it’s supposed to.

Can I just say right now that I want to live in Connecticut? And have a house with a wraparound front porch. And a pond. And a history.
