Thinking about Minerva Teichert today. She’s got to be one of my all-time favorite artists (LDS or otherwise). She’s also an inspiration in many other ways.
But the best part about Minerva is that this woman knew how to use RED!
My favorite painting of hers depicts 3 Nephi 27. She paints a whirl of female angels swooping down to minister to the children. And they bring food! Baskets of fruit. In the center of the painting is a tiny, tempestuous-looking little girl sporting an enourmous grin.
Gorgeous, love! I’m at the Apple store and looked up your blog on one of the big displays here, and it was wonderful to see Minerva’s colors in full display.
One of the things that warmed me up to the Newport Beach temple was when I saw two of her paintings in strategic locations. Actually, it was probably the highlight of my tour.

Her murals in the Manti Temple are breathtaking. I’m glad they were spared the awful fate that happened in Logan.
