This mother of a slain American soldier is asking the President to meet with her, to explain exactly what it is that her son died for. I wish her luck.
Viggo Mortensen appeared in Crawford, TX to show his support for Cindy Sheehan, the woman who has planted herself outside of George Bush’s ranch in the hopes of speaking to him about her son, Casey, who was killed just five days after being stationed in Iraq and about the need to pull our troops the hell out of there.
I was just skimming around blogger based on my interests and saw that you had also had osteosarcoma. I’m normally from California (Mendocino County, about 3 hours north of San Francisco) as well, so just wanted to post and say hi!
Thanks for the comment Anya. Yes, I had osteosarcoma in my right femur. I was diagnosed 20 years ago. As a result of the tumor my leg was amputated and I had a year of chemotherapy. Fortunately, the cancer has never returned.
Glad to know that Viggo is supporting Cindy. Perhaps Bush will pay attention??
I also had the initial tumor in the right distal femur, but it was originally misdiagnosed, so it spread a good deal and amputation wasn’t an option. I’m about seven months into a two-year regimen of chemo and surgery.
Glad to hear things worked out for you though!
And we can only hope Bush is paying attention, with the amount of media coverage.

Good to see she’s getting some celebrity support.
