This letter to the Universe from Maddie got me thinking about what I would ask for right now if I were to write such a letter. At the same time, I reflected recently on my 2011 wishlist, realizing again how uncannily ‘right on’ I was as I predicted so many of the year’s happenings…
So rather than write a request to the Universe, it seems more apropos to mark how many wonderful things have recently come my way:
- a new-to-me Russian man-kitty who is softer-than-soft & purrs up a storm when he’s happy
- a new-to-me small house(!) with rosebushes just starting to bloom and a view from my bedroom window that looks just like the one I remember from St. Remy-de-Provence & morning light that makes the prettiest pictures
- learning to cook with new spices and textures (and meat!) & herbs from my garden
- friends (new & old) who seem eager for adventure and to share my home
- the ocean, nearly everyday
- a few new little-black-dresses and so many places to wear them
- continuing to greet each morning sitting in the sunshine on my soft living room rug
- travels, near and far–all summer long
- sharing my love of WordPress with friends and faculty–and gathering many new converts
- learning something new, every single day

New place has roses?! I’m SO happy to hear that!
Yes, it does! The rosebushes were a bit poorly-looking when I first got here, but are definitely turning around now :)
ok. How do I use WordPress and why:
Oh, that is not easily explained in a blog comment! I will have to write a longer post about my WP-evangelism…
I like the look of this blog better than your Blogger blog. But every time I’ve looked at WordPress it seems difficult, beginning with having to find a host…
Vajra:
Yes, you do need to find a host if you want the full functionality and flexibility of wordpress. But even wordpress.com (the free version, no host necessary) is superior to blogger.com. I highly recommend it and it’s a good gateway to eventually getting a hosted blog with your own customized version of wordpress.
