Reply Deborah May 23, 2006 - 12:42 am Yeah, I’ve actually had a number of peach dreams through the years — too much Roald Dahl and too many hours in the kitchen bottling . . . they are my turkish delight . . . Reply Gray May 23, 2006 - 6:24 pm It’s apples for me. Ashmead’s Kernel, Fameuse, Blacknose Gillyflower, Roxbury Russets, Newtown Pippen, Snow Apple, and all the other apples and rootstocks that most people have forgotten. You may not know the apples, but we can all rejoice in the names. Reply John May 24, 2006 - 1:39 pm My fruit-fetish is tied up in my nostalgia for Japan. I dream about mikan (satsumas) plucked straight from the tree, the peel ready to drop away in one piece as soon as I tear into it. Also, juicy nashi (asian pears). Can’t find any here that are any where near as sweet as the ones in Japan. Reply Leave a Comment Cancel Reply Notify me of follow-up comments by email. Notify me of new posts by email.
